      Gaining weight and being a diabetic can be dangerous. You need to follow the steps listed above very strictly. what could work like a charm are:
      1. Rapid Walking 20-30 minutes per day.
      2. Eat a very light dinner – at least 2 hours prior to going to bed.
      3. Cut down on fatty foods.
      4. Avoid alcohol completely.
      5. Eat smaller portions, eat frequently – small healthy snack every two hours.
      6. For the belly fat, do some exercises like laying flat on your back, raising your legs at 90 degrees to your body and alternatively raising your head slightly above the ground. Do this 20 times per day.
      7. You can also do sit-ups 20-30 times per day. Do you exercises on a empty stomach.

      These dietary habits and exercises should not only help him lose weight but also shed a few pounds from around the waist and get a somewhat flattened belly.
