Dark Underarms Remedies

Dark underarm is a condition that anyone who isn’t dark skinned wouldn’t want to have. It pulls down the self-esteem of an individual as it makes you feel ill at ease. Dark underarm is something most fair-skinned women are not proud. However, these circumstances cannot be totally avoided and prevented.

Causes of dark underarms:

  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Pregnancy. With pregnancy, there is an increase of hormones. There is also the increase of melanin, which is responsible for the skin pigmentation. This is one of the likely reasons why pregnant women usually have dark underarms.
  • Injury to the area. This is fairly common if an individual is fond of plucking the hair in the armpits. Shaving the armpits as well can cause dark skin pigmentation. This is because the razor or blade, once they cut through the hairs, leave a mark and usually injure the sensitive follicles in the armpits. Hence, it usually looks like a little red dot that later progress into brown spots and pigmentation.

How to Prevent Dark Underarms

The best tip would be to avoid the baking soda and observe for a couple of weeks and see if the armpit color is restored. Then try and use some of the other remedies mentioned above to treat the dark underarms.
