Home Remedies for Uric Acid | Natural Treatment and Cure for Uric Acid

What is Uric Acid?

People suffering from uric acid know the kind of pain this problem brings. A high level of uric acid in a person’s system can be problematic for those with gout or gouty arthritis. Treating gout and uric acid problems can be done at home with a few remedies and treatments that are easy to use and to make.

Home Remedies for Treating Gout and Uric Acid

When you find yourself suffering from uric acid and gout problems, there are some solutions to this that can be done at home. Here are some of the remedies you can try:

  • One thing you can do to try and prevent this problem is to change your lifestyle and eating habits.
You can try and change your diet by minimizing the intake of certain foods that are high in uric acid, which includes red meats, mushrooms, organ meats, anchovies, and others. Minimizing the intake of these foods will help with the problem of gout and gouty arthritis.
  • Take in a healthy dose of vitamin C to help reduce the amount of uric acid in your system. Continuously taking in 500 milligrams of this vitamin will decrease your uric acid levels in a month or two.
  • Cherries are also a good way to treat gout and uric acid problems from home.
A daily dose of a cup of fresh cherries that you can either make into a juice or simply eaten as is can help lower your uric acid levels.
  • Taking in milk and yogurt can also help lower uric acid levels in your body. Eating a cup of fresh yogurt at least once every two days or even once a day significantly decreases the level of uric acid in a person’s body. The same happens when a person takes in a glass of milk every day.
  • Increasing you intake of vegetables can also help with gouty arthritis and uric acid problems. Just avoid beans and other legumes since these seem to aggravate uric acid problems. Try to change to a mostly vegetarian diet to help reduce uric acid in your body.
  • Pure filtered water is also a good way to cleanse your body of excessive uric acids. Drink purified filtered water regularly and daily to help with the problem of gout and uric acid levels.
  • Celery seed extract is also a popular natural remedy for gout and uric acid problems.
  • Try to minimize such food like bread and seafood will help with reducing uric acid levels. Try to avoid alcohol and fatty meats altogether.

The management of gout is strictly through diet and food prescriptions.

      Follow these guidelines stringently:

      – Incorporate lots of fluids in the diet. Drink a minimum of 3 and 1/2 liters of water.

      – Alcohol is a complete no – no. it precipitates an attack of gout.

      – Avoid the following foods altogether – herring, mackerel, anchovies, organ meat, sardine, sea food, shellfish, and spinach.

      – Legumes can be consumed in moderation. About 1 bowl twice a week.

      – Keep fat intake at a minimum.

      – Cherries are the best food prescription for gout. They have the potential to inhibit the formation of uric acid and consequently stave of an attack of gout.

      Homoeopathy treats gout effectively

Benzoic acid, a powerful homoeopathic drug, helps keep uric acid in check and ameliorates the symptoms. It would be preferable if you could detail your symptoms to me.

Pneumonia and loose motions have exacerbated your mother’s gout symptoms.
Only the person suffering knows what the gout pain is. Some time the uric acid level is normal even though the symptoms persist.
She has recently been cured of 2 acute and debilitating disease, she has to regain her energy, without compromising with diet for gout.
She has to consume plenty of vegetables, as they have got properties to reduce uric acid. Yoghurt is also known to lower uric acid. Vitamin C reduces uric acid; fruits containing vitamin C will help her.
Avoid meat, mushrooms, as they increase uric acid content in the blood.

Indeed you have uric acid on a higher side, what made you to test serum uric acid? Is it due to pain in finger joints?
You are having recurrent urinary tract infection, which is chronic in nature. The medicine which your doctor has prescribed has not solved the problem, some home remedies may help like barley water, coconut juice apart from the recommended medicine.
To reduce uric acid, celery seed extract, cherries, avoidance of sea food will be useful. Vitamin C tablets are also known to reduce uric acid and gout problem.
      Avoid alcohol in any form.
Life style modification is also necessary.
For premature ejaculation there are some exercise to tone up your pelvic muscles, they are called Kegels exercise. Stop the flow of urine for a second while passing urine, before starting the flow again. Do it when ever you urinate.

Gout occurs as a result of excess uric acid (urate) in the blood and tissues. Gout occurs due to impaired excretion of uric acid from the kidney. Impaired excretion of uric acid include primary and secondary cause. Primary cause is idiopathic. Secondary cause include chronic renal disease, drug therapy, hypertention, lead toxicity, primary hyperparathyroidism, hypothyroidism, increased lactic acid production, glucose 6 phosphatase deficiency. Over production of uric acid includes idiopathic (primary) gout, increased purine synthesis of de novo due to hypoxanthine guanine phosphoribosyl transferase reduction (an x linked inborn error causing the lesh nyhan syndrome), phosphoribosyl-pyrophosphate synthetase overactivity. Gout is a common joint disease affecting over five times more men than women. It is rare in children. In men, it can occur any time after puberty, whereas in women it is uncommon before the menopause. In around 10% of cases there is a family history of the disorder. People who are overweight, have high blood pressure, eat diets rich in protein and drink large quantities of alcohol have an increased risk of developing gout

The serum urate level is usually raised but it is important to appreciate that this does not prove the diagnosis because asymptomatic hyperuricemia is very common. Whenever possible synovial fluid should be aspirated.

Alternative treatment for gout is Gouticin that contains Withania somnifera, Colchicum autumnale, Zingiber officinale, Tribulus terrestris, Smilax chinensis, Apium graveolens. It is seen that during allopurinol therapy there may be gouty attack there anti-inflammatory medicine has to be used. But in case of Gouticin use gouty attack are uncommon due to its anti-inflammatory

    Disaccharides
Disaccharides are composed of two monosaccharide joined together. Sucrose (table sugar) is a disaccharide composed of one glucose and one fructose molecule

    In the Mouth
The process of digesting carbohydrates begins in the mouth. saliva contains an enzyme called amylase that starts breaking down the more complex carbohydrates into simpler types.

    The Molisch Test

All carbohydrates. Monosaccharides give a rapid positive test. Disaccharides and polysaccharides react slower.

    Reactions:
The test reagent dehydrates pentoses to form furfural (top reaction) and dehydrates hexoses to form 5-hydroxymethyl furfural. The furfurals further react with -naphthol present in the test reagent to produce a purple product

    Iodine test
    Shows positive test for Starch

    Reactions:
Iodine complexes with starch to form a blue-black product.

    Disaccharides
Disaccharides are composed of two monosaccharide meat, seafood, and alcohol increases the risk of newly diagnosed gout. In addition, dairy products and coffee may be protective, lowering the risk of gout. However, these studies looked at people who had not had gout before. They did not assess the effect of diet on people who already had gout.

As you know, high level of uric acid in the body gives rise to gout. It is a condition where there is acute joint pain, swelling and redness. Mostly great toe is affected. But any other joint can also be affected. There are many medicines available to reduce high uric acid. But few important natural ways will complement the treatment. Stop alcohol if you are drinking. Avoid foods that are high in purine(protein). Eggs, meat, fish, legumes, lentils, etc contain high protein content. Drink enough water daily. Exercise regularly. Reduce your mental stress as it is one of the factors for triggering gout condition. Practice yoga and meditation.

High level of uric acid in blood can lead to gout. Gout is a painful condition which affects the joints mainly the toes and finger. Sometimes it can also affect large joints. Crystals of uric acid gets deposited in the joints producing pain and swelling. Uric acid is a byproduct of purine that gets metabolized from the food that we eat. Hence obviously what a person eats matters when he has gout. You may need medications to reduce uric acid, for which you have to consult your health care practitioner. If one medicine does not suit, he may prescribe some other medication. Together with medicines, home remedies and change in life style is also necessary to reduce uric acid and episodes of gout. Here are few steps that may help:
      • Stop drinking alcohol as it is one of the major culprit for raised uric acid level.
      • Eat one cup of fresh cherries daily. Cherries contain substance that helps to reduce uric acid and also inflammation in joints.
      • Eat one cup of yogurt daily as it is effective in reducing pain and swelling of gout.
      • Avoid meat and chicken as they are high in purine.
      • Avoid drinking soft drinks.
Alternative medicine such as homeopathy is beneficial for treating gout. Consult a good homeopath near your area.
