Gallstones are tiny stones that are formed in the gallbladder. Gallbladder is a pear shaped bag which lies under the liver. It stores bile. Bile is composed of water, salts, cholesterol and bile acids. The main function of bile is digesting fat from the food we eat. It also helps in absorption of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K.
