- Sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, hazel nuts, pistachios, and almonds: a serving size of a little over a hundred grams of any of these can give you between 700 to 3,700 mg of free arginine with 150 grams of sesame seeds giving you the highest amount of arginine
- Winter squash, wheat germ, peanut butter, and bran flakes: 200 grams of squash will give you 690 mg of arginine while 15 grams of peanut butter yields 437 mg of this amino acid.
Other sources of this amino acid include watermelons, cottage cheese, oatmeal, sunflower seeds, pork, beef, and skim yogurt, to name a few.
