Eczematous Dermatitis Treatment
- The first step in eczematous dermatitis treatment is to identify the cause of irritation then immediately get rid of it.
- To relieve irritation and itching, apply creams with corticosteroid as its active ingredient. However, concentrated cortisone should not be applied on sensitive areas such as the face and rectal area.
- It is also advisable to remove jewelries such as rings before washing the hands.
- To treat the symptoms, bath in lukewarm saltwater using glycerin-based soaps or bath oils.
- If formulated creams are not minimizing the symptoms of irritation, try using salves made of coal tar.
- Apply zinc or tar paste on the affected area, then cover it with bandage or gauze pad. Leave it for two weeks for effective treatment.
