  • Hydrocortisone cream: This is an anti inflammatory medication that can reduce swelling and pain. These are usually available over the counter.
  • Use milder toothpaste or mouthwash: If you started experiencing cuts on the side of mouth when you used that product, consider changing into a milder one.
  • Avoid foods that can irritate the sores: Spicy and citrus foods can aggravate the lesions and can cause stinging on the cuts.
