  • Baby oil: rub some of these on the stain then leave it overnight.

  • Use gloves. When you are the one who is going to apply the hair dye, it is wise to use gloves to prevent it from staining your hands.
  • Apply oil or petroleum jelly. Apply a very thin layer of oil or petroleum jelly around your face, neck, and near your ears.
  • Moisturizer or lotion. Apply this on the perimeter of the face, neck, and ears as well prior to hair dyeing.
  • Shampoo. During the final rinsing of your hair, scrub a little extra shampoo on your face, neck, and ears to facilitate removing hair dye from skin.
