Recurrent Fever Treatment | Continuous Fever Cure | Recurring Fever Remedies

Question: I got fever 2 days back. Doctor gave me Combiflam, zifi 200 and solvin. But the effect of tablet is only for 4-5 hrs. After that again fever and body ache persists.

Combiflam is composed of acetaminophen (croc in) and ibuprofen, which is commonly used to relive pain and also used to control fever. Zifi 200 is the brand name for ‘cephalosporin’, which is commonly used as an antibiotic for pharyngitis, respiratory track infections and typhoid.

There are several causes of recurrent low-grade fever:

  • Typhoid fever
  • Malaria
  • Tuberculosis
  • Toxoplasmosis
  • Cytomegalovirus infection
  • Occult abscess or Osteomylitis
  • Malignancy

It is essential for you to first confirm the cause of the low grade recurrent fever.

The causes are wide ranging and the treatment will be based on the cause. Antibiotics and painkillers will only have palliative action, until the underlying cause is not dealt with.

Treatment for Fever

Investigations to confirm diagnosis of fever:

  • X ray Chest PA view, to rule out tuberculosis or any other lower respiratory tract infection.
  • Routine Blood investigation like CBC, ESR.
  • Peripheral smear for malaria.
  • Widal’s Test is a confirmatory test for typhoid. However this test needs to be done at least 15 days after the onset of the fever.
  • Please consult your doctor before conducting any of the investigations.
He knows your case history and will be in a better position to direct you.

I am having a low grade fever last two months after a sinus attack and the fever continued. Earlier it used to start from morning and now have every day only from evening till night and never temp above 99.2f. My CBC was ok with ESR of 22. This test was taken on the 20th day after my fevers started and now its past one and half month. I am undergoing homoeopathic treatment and some ayurveda also since did not want to take antibiotics due to some elevated levels of liver enzymes. My tongue also becomes reddish nowadays by evening along with redness in my eyes. I do not have any tiredness or feverish feeling other than by palms and body feeling hot. I am worried and could somebody share their views with me.

I have been suffering from malaria continuously for over a month now. I have done all kinds of tests and am currently on medication. What could be the problem? Can anyone suggest me what treatment or remedy I should use?

The physician is the right person to tell you about what your health problem is after examining you. You should continue the medicines as prescribed by your doctor and follow up with your doctor regularly. Holy basil leaves are known to be effective in malarial fever. Chew few leaves daily.

Both of my ovaries have been removed two years back. Thereafter I am having fever very often. My family doctor prescribes medicine for fever and it subsides. But as soon as I discontinue the medicine, my body temperature rises. I am unable to understand the cause for this problem. Also is there a homeopathic remedy for permanent cure.

You have not mentioned the reason for removing ovaries. However, considering a relapsing fever, you have to undergo thorough routine blood and various other investigations such as sonogram of abdomen and pelvis etc. The primary reason for fever should be known, and then it becomes easy to treat the root cause. Homeopathic medicines are effective, but it is also important to diagnose the cause.
