If there is chronic blockage of ear, then it’s necessary to consult an ENT physician. This is to rule out causes such as perforation of ear drum. Steam inhalation is useful, especially when the cause is sinusitis. Inhale steam once or twice in a day. By curing sinusitis, it may be possible that your ear can get unclogged.

My ear has been plugged ever since we returned from our trip. I have taken Benadryl and tried chewing gum and blowing through my mouth with my nose plugged. It will pop, but never completely clears. What should I do?

Too much accumulation of earwax can cause discomfort in the ears. You may feel your ear is plugged. Put few wax dissolving ear drops that are available in drug store daily for few days. Also take precaution that water should not enter your ears while bathing. After few days you may feel better. If you still do not find any change consult an ENT specialist.
