Tea tree oil contains many compounds which work together to produce its healing abilities. The compounds are mainly terpenenes, cymones, terpinols etc. According to many researchers, tea tree oil may not be directly involved in reducing the keloid scar, but its anti-inflammatory property, as well as its ability to reduce itching and burning may be a great help as these symptoms are also present in keloid. How To Apply Tea Tree Oil For Keloids?

People who are allergic to celery and thyme should not use tea tree oil as the allergic ingredient for both is same; it is mostly d-limonene.

A few drops of tea tree oil can be applied on the keloid surface. It can be applied with the help of your finger or you can dab a cotton ball in tea tree oil and apply it on the keloid. A person can apply it two times in a day and it can be applied for many days and weeks without any side effects. If in case there is too much of irritation after applying tea tree oil over the keloid, you can mix it with water and use diluted solution.

3 to 4 drops of tea tree oil can be mixed with small amount of olive oil for massage over keloid. Apply it regularly for effective result. However try to avoid using tea tree oil on face, near the mouth, near eyes. Tea tree for keloids should be only applied externally. It should never be ingested.

You can also apply tea tree oil cream over the keloid. There is another way, apply sea salt water over the keloid to keep it moist. Apply tea tree oil after some time. Now prick one vitamin E capsule and apply the liquid over the keloid. Instead of vitamin E, you can also apply Aloe Vera gel. Following it regularly will help the keloid to fade away faster.
