I tried to delay my period from last night for this weekend with birth control pills. But today I saw my period has started. There is very light menstrual bleeding. I really want to delay this by a week. Yesterday, I took 2 tablets and took 2 of them today. I was thinking 1 tablet a day is good enough to postpone my menstrual cycle by a week.

I have been trying to postpone my chumps for about a week but when it started I have been having heavy flow and severe pain. Is it some kind of side effect? Can I have sex during my period or when I am on these pills?

      - The heavy blood flow and bleeding that you are experiencing, is due to the withdrawal symptoms of the drug / prescription, that you have taken to delay your periods. Heavy bleeding occurs, since there has been an imbalance or a change in the hormonal profile of your body, and is called withdrawal bleeding.

      - Also, several side effects or associated symptoms are known to occur, when you take these drugs, such as pain and cramps in the abdomen, breast tenderness, and abdominal bloating. They pass away soon.

      - Sexual intercourse can be had while you are on the pills, since most of these pills are oral contraceptives themselves.

      - Visit your gynecologist once in a while if there is any need to alter the drug or the dosage.

I have a very regular period. Now the problem is from the beginning of the year I have been spot on when calculating when I would get my next period. It so happened that this month it came one week early. The problem lies is that I have been planning a holiday for November and it so happens that when I’m on holiday I will be getting my period. I want to find out if I can take anything to either get it one week early or one week later so that when I’m on holiday I’m not in pain and having a moody horrible holiday. Oh and I am not on any pill or anything.
    Please advise.

Steronate nor contains notethisterone, a progesterone. It can be used for postponement of menstruation if you start taking it 3to 4 days before expected date of menstruation. You will get periods after 3 days of its discontinuation, and not on the expected regular 28th day of next menstrual cycle.
