Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) Problems:

The problems arising before the onset of menstruation is called Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS). Sensitive breasts, water retention, headaches, sadness, nervousness, pain in the abdomen are some of the symptoms of premenstrual problems. Fluctuation in the cycle of hormone production leads to these problems.

Dosage: A Standard dose of potency 200, once a day until improvement sets in is ideal, but not more than eight weeks.

Symptoms of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) Issues:

  • Depressed, fatigued, shy; accumulation of water, particularly in the feet; hands and feet are ice cold; joint pain.

Worse – Cold, in the morning
Better – Onset of menstruation, motion, eating
Remedy – Aristolochia

  • Painful, swollen breasts; headaches, cramps; feeling exhausted quickly; lack of self confidence; cold/damp sweats. Particularly mothers with problem’s of being overweight.

Worse – Humidity, dampness, cold
Remedy – Calcarea carbonica

  • Cries easily, depressed, irritated; feet are swollen; breasts are sensitive; diarrhea at the onset of menstruation; lower body and back pain; dislikes sex.

Worse – Since being pregnant
Remedy – Causticum

  • Head and neck pain; often on the left side; always in a hurry; sad; nervous; always in motion; feels better at the onset of menstruation; tearing pain from one side of the hip to the other; the heavier the bleeding, the more severe the pain; keeps talking about oneself all the time or does not care.

Better – Warmth
Remedy – Cimicifuga

  • Irritated, constantly under pressure and restless; headaches, migraines, including dizziness and nose bleeds; more severe the pain the heavier the bleeding; cramps and back pain; cannot tolerate anything tight around neck and body.

Worse – Warmth of any kind
Remedy – Lachesis

  • Frightened; always on the verge of tears; sad; shy; lacks self-confidence; unkind and unfair; visibly bloated abdomen, but passing gas does not bring relief; strong desire to eat sweets and spicy food.

Worse – Tight clothes, warmth
Remedy – Lycopodium

  • Severe headache as if head is going to burst, moody; a tendency to blow things out of proportion or dramatize; introverted behavior; forgetfulness; easily fatigued.

Worse – Receiving sympathy, heat, before noon
Better – Being alone, fresh air, salt
Remedy – Natrum chloratum

  • Heartburn, nausea; pain in the breasts and stomach; unsatisfied; irritated; short tempered; thinks only about oneself; feels that accomplishment is very important in life; strong sexual desire; feels annoyed and restricted by menstruation.

Worse – Cold, in the morning
Better – Warmth
Remedy – Nux vomica

  • Very sensitive and cries easily; headaches; moody but good natured; free spirited; pulling sensation in the uterus; onset of menstruation often delayed and scanty.

Worse – Warmth
Better – Receiving sympathy, fresh air
Remedy – Pulsatilla

  • Headaches, cramps; overworked, totally exhausted; discharge causes a rash; appearance of tears and rage suddenly; very careful attitude; feeling of loneliness.

Worse – Cold, during menstruation
Better – Quiet, rest, light motion, warmth
Remedy – Sepia
