Menorrhagia Treatment | Home Remedies and Diet for Menorrhagia Cure

Question: I’m 16year old girl suffering from Menorrhagia and migraine from 6 months. Please suggest remedies.

What is Menorrhagia

Menorrhagia is a disorder, in which there is a profuse menstrual flow or a prolonged menstrual flow or both.

What is your menstrual history? Too frequent? Too prolonged? Too profuse? Are there blood clots? Is there any white discharge?

Causes of Menorrhagia:

A variety of causes are responsible for this disorder:

  • A low level of calcium in the body
  • Toxicity in the body.

Menorrhagia Home Remedies:

  • A milk diet would be highly beneficial for you. Step up your intake of milk.
    It is loaded with calcium.
  • Steer clear of stimulants in any form. They increase the flow of blood. (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, alcohol, spicy food)
  • During the period and even after the period has finished, avoid over exerting yourself. Strain in anyway, whether mental or physical should be avoided at all costs.
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables are nature’s body-cleansing and health restoring foods. They must form the bulk of the diet, along with whole grains and sprouts.
  • Smoking, if a habit must be stopped at all cost.
  • Beet juice is the best remedy in the treatment of any menstrual irregularity.
It is very effective and must be had every day.
  • Ginger tea also has proved to be extremely valuable in the management of menstrual complaints.

Migraine is a disorder of the central nervous system. It is characterized by one-sided headaches. There may/may not be an aura (flashes of light, ringing in the ears, numbness), followed by a severe headache. Vomiting invariably ameliorates the headache. What are your symptoms?

As far as I understand your case, your headache can be connected to anemia/ a lack of adequate hemoglobin, which is triggering the headaches.
You are anemic because you lose profuse quantities of blood during period. Get your haemoglobin level assessed.
How often do you have the headaches? Are they associated with dizziness, fatigue and breathlessness?
If so, you ought to start an iron supplement and consume foods – tomatoes, beet, cabbage, spinach, fenugreek, and dates. These will regenerate lost blood faster, and make up for the deficit.
