Question:
Is there anything to do so as to have a longer cycle especially for someone whose cycle is 23 days?
Answer:
Longer Menstrual Cycle
Each of us has a biological clock that determines the hormonal changes in the body. It is important to understand a few things before attempting to change the normal cycle.
Firstly, if the menstrual cycle has always been a 23 day cycle, there is little to worry about. This is because the hormonal changes take place at slightly different time in your body. The normal menstrual cycle is 28 days (with a range of 23 to 35 days). A regular 23 day cycle is normal and need not be changed.
In a normal 23 day cycle ovulation make take place a few days earlier. Ideally in a 28 day cycle ovulation takes place on the fourteenth day, however in a 23 day cycle the ovulation may take place on the eleventh or twelfth day.
Practically nothing needs to be done. However, if the normal cycle has changed over a period of time, there is a possibility that there is some underlying pathology. Please consult your gynecologist to get more details on your condition.
