Anti-Aging Tips : Prevent aging with a healthy lifestyle
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diet for example, is directly related to how people age. Diets high in unhealthy fats and sugars for example, yield heart disease, diabetes, obesity and a host of other conditions and problems. In addition, oxidation from unhealthy diets may result in cognitive declines. There are plenty of good reasons to cultivate a healthy diet including extending the life by reducing disease, but also because a diet rich in fresh vegetables, lean meats and fiber may help preserve mental acuity. Calorie restriction is another food related area that has garnered special attention as an anti-aging tip. Unfortunately not enough research has been conducted on humans to gauge the long-term effects of calorie restriction. Dietary changes such as the inclusion of soy products in the diet of menopausal women have long been advocated.
Stress is another major problem in the fight to retain vitality. Stress has been implicated in a host of symptoms of aging. For example, stress can lead to lack of sleep and anxiety. It has been suggested that stress contributes to higher blood pressure and in compromising immunity. Exercise or meditation may help reduce stress and in the process strengthen many of the bodies systems. Yoga for example, appears to reduce stress in many people, increases flexibility and may also improve circulation. Weight training and swimming may also provide some significant benefits for aging populations. Swimming may be even better than weight training because stress on joints is reduced.
