What Causes Open Pores
Enlarged pores are unsightly larger pores in the face and on the skin, which gives an appearance of premature aging.
Main causative factor for open pores is using nicotine (tobacco) in any form. This being the prime reason and along with it there are various other factors which help in formation of open pores like- soft drinks, sugar in any form, chocolate, potato chips and other junk foods.
How to get rid of Open Pores
- Begin a good nutritious program with exercise and rest. Take vitamin and mineral supplements, including vitamins A, C and the entire B complex.
- Cleanliness is important. Keep the skin washed and clean and avoid touching the face frequently. Get early morning sun rays on the face and get some fresh air and exercise daily and take adequate rest to eliminate toxins.
- Avoid irritating skin and avoid heavy make-ups. Also avoid stress. They will worsen the problem.
Home Remedies for Open Pores
- Nicacinamide or niacin is very important for skin repair. This can be restored by adding brewer’s yeast, rice bran, wheat bran, peanuts, wheat germ, brown rice, sun flower seed, whole wheat products and green vegetables to your daily diet to heal open pores.
- Elecampane root, elder leaves and flowers, witch grass root, juniper berries and ground ivy are mixed in equal parts. Steep one teaspoon from it in half a cup of boiling hot water. Take this daily over an extended period of time till pores heal.
- Take one part burdock, one part dandelion, one part sassafras, one part sarsaparilla and 1/2 part licorice. Tea is prepared by adding mixture of all the herbs (10gms) in a liter of water. Simmer it for half an hour. Strain it and drink one cup three times a day.
- Vitamin C and vitamin E are very essential in skin care and repair. Vitamin E can be obtained from fresh, cold-pressed wheat germ oil and flaxseed oil. Flaxseed oil is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Soy oil and sunflower oil, corn oil, whole raw or sprouted seeds, nuts and grains contain vitamin E. Vitamin C can be obtained from broccoli, brussels sprouts, mustard greens, all fresh fruits (especially oranges, lemon, limes and berries) and vegetables (especially green, leafy vegetables).

Hello my name is RT and my skin is dry and with lots of blackheads or open pores so how to apply any cream on the face to avoid dryness so that the blackheads can be removed easily with hands. What should I do for closing pores??
We can shrink open pores by using mud mask and tomato paste for 15 mins to dry or mud mask with rose water. Then wash and apply any aging cream like olay and leave overnight. Wash in the morning or use any scrub twice in a week.
