Question: My whole skin feels burning and is very itchy. While taking shower hot water makes it worse.

Causes of Burning and Itchy skin:
- Certain oral medications have been associated with causing itching skin

Treatment for Burning Itchy Skin:
- After a bath, gently pat the skin dry with a towel.Don’t rub.
- Apply a moisturizer within three minutes of getting out of the bath.
- Applying oil on the skin to keep it moist will also help in reducing the itching, if it is due to dryness of the skin.
- Treat dermatitis by applying topical cortisone (steroid) cream or ointment for a 5 to 15 day course. However it is recommended that you consult your dermatologist before purchasing the ointments
- Homeopathic remedy Sulphur 30, four pills, taken thrice a day for a period of 7-15 days will substantially help reduce the itching and burning.
