What Causes Rashes On the Skin?
Skin rashes can be caused by numerous factors. It is also one of the signs and symptoms of certain diseases such as chicken pox. Rashes are different and should not be in any way confused with pimples. There are rashes that may be found generally in the whole body while other rashes will be located only in certain parts of the body.
These are the following possible causes why rashes would appear:
- Due to an allergic reaction.One of the signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction would be the presence and outbursts of rashes in the skin. It may be due to an allergic reaction to a food you may have eaten or an exposure to a certain material you are allergic to.
- Irritation to lotions and creams applied. There are certain components of these products that may cause an abnormal reaction to your skin triggering the appearance of rashes.
- A reaction to a bite. Usually when a person is bitten by an insect, the skin would usually react and form rashes.

Treatment of rashes depends on what caused it. While some rashes may be itchy in nature, some would merely be raised patches on the skin.
Here are the following things you can do to remedy rashes:
- A natural rash remedy to alleviate the discomfort of the itch of the rashes, placing hot compresses in the area relieves the feeling.
- Observe proper hygiene at all times to avoid further complication and to lessen the risk for infection.
- Avoid scratching the area. Scratching would cause a break in the skin that will serve as an entry way for other harmful microorganisms.
- When rashes occur in children, it is advisable to cut their nails short to avoid and to prevent them from scratching.
- Application of ointment and creams with starch and calamine contents help reduce the itch as well as cure rashes.
Tips To Prevent the Growth of Rashes
If you base the prevention from the predisposing factors, here you will be able to know firsthand what you need to do to prevent this from happening:
- Watch what you eat. Avoid food that you know you will have an allergic reaction to.
- Keep away from other materials that you are allergic to such as plaster, grass, etc.
- Observe proper hygiene.
- Avoid contact with individuals you suspect has chicken pox.
- Eat healthy and nutritious food.
- Load yourself with lots of vitamin C and supplements to keep you healthy and to boost your immune system.

I highly agree with the watching what you eat. I actually had no idea I was Allergic to the papaya fruit. Apparently it is similar to poison oak on the skin of the fruit. Anyway, I won’t go into details, but there was a full on rash everywhere the fruit touched, but then it spread if my hands touched my face and them my arms, etc…and the oils remained on my clothes until I washed.
So yes, be aware of food as a high reason to get rashes. And at 1st sign, you must use soap and water to get the food particles off fast!
