Natural Cure For Flea Bites | Natural Treatment For Flea Bites

Flea bite can cause slight swelling, redness and sometimes mild itching. In very rare cases there can be allergic reaction and the effect can be dangerous.

Preventing Flea Bite Effects

  • Clean the area thoroughly and see if there are particles remaining inside the area. Try to remove out immediately if it appears on the surface of the skin. Do not try to remove any particle you see with blade or needle as it may further because complication and will take time in healing of the area.
  • Do not scratch the area as it will cause the bites area to swell and infection may spread.
    Instead apply the natural remedy given below to reduce the itching.
  • Apply ice for reducing pain and swelling if any.
  • Eat citrus fruits and green yellow vegetables to increase your immunity.

Natural Home Remedies for Flea Bite:

  • On the area of bite, apply a backing soda paste and water and give pressure with wet cloth with diluted ammonia water. This helps in quick relief and is useful for healing flea bite swelling.
  • When you venture out in woods and you have flea bite mud can be used for this purpose. Wet some mud and put it on the area of bite.
    Leave it there for half an hour. Select clean place for collection of mud. Avoid are where there are mud hole as animals might have polluted that area. Clay can be used as well for the same.
  • Plantain is the first and foremost herb for treating flea bite. It is frequently available as it grows where the ground is damp, heavy and shaded. Rub the freshly picked herb and rub it over the area of flea bite. Other method is to add 1/4 cup of dried plantain leaves to half a liter of boiled water, cover and steep for 20-30mins. Soak the area of flea bite in this water 3-4 times in a day.
  • For preparing a poultice parsley is very useful for treatment of flea bite infection. Parsley alleviates human flea bites and helps early healing of the bitten area. Mash the plant and use as poultice. Lavender can be used for the same purpose as it a natural anti-septic and a wound healer.
