What Causes Acne scars or Face Scars
Face scars are usually left after acne. Acne is not a physically painful or discomforting condition. Though this problem is common among teenagers, adults can experience it too.
How to Prevent Acne scars or Face Scars
- Acne is caused due to the type of food we eat. Oily and fried foods, milk products, sugar, chocolate, nuts, fats and hydrogenated oils are the causes and should be avoided. Also iodine rich food such as cheese, liver, iodized salt and crabs have been associated with acne and have to be avoided.
- Expose the body to sun rays and air but do not sunburn yourself. Daily exercise is very important. Drink plenty of water and fluids especially citrus fruit juices.
- Wash the face 3 to 4 time in a day with plain water and avoid using soap every time.
Home Remedies for Scars on Face
- Clean your skin thoroughly and apply egg white with a cotton swab. Let it stay for one to two hours or overnight. Egg white has an astringent property which helps to remove the scar and refreshes your skin.
- Make a poultice with the help of sugar and small amount of water.Make it into syrup form and apply it over washed face. Apply on the scar and surrounding area. Let it dry and rinse it off with warm milk without cream. Sugar has anti-bacterial properties and help in removing organisms causing scars.
- To treat the face scar, make an infusion from holy basil leaves. Take 3 to 4 teaspoons of dried basil leaves powder and add to one cup of boiling water. Allow it to steep for 10 minutes and after cooling apply this preparation on the face scars.
- Turmeric is very useful in removing facial scars due to any injury or acne. Turmeric powder is taken in a bowl of boiled water. Cover your head with towel and create a mini-steam bath for your face. Make sure to wash your face immediately after the steaming, as the dirt and oil can be removed more easily from the scar area. This treatment can also be done with basil leaf powder.

My daughter got a scar on her face. She picked off a scab on her face and the resulting scar was bright red. I gave it some time, but the redness did not fade readily. I understand scars can fade over time, especially on kids; but since it was on her face, I did not want to take any chances. That it only might work was good enough for me.
I’ve used the Dr. Max Powers Scar Serum regularly on her face for about a month and it is definitely faded, not so noticeable anymore.
I also have a deep scar that is 35 years old right smack on the bridge of my nose. It’s not fading any more than it has. I decided to try it on that and also a recent burn scar on my arm. The scar on my arm is looking better. It’s still there but smooth and fading. The one on the bridge of my nose is deep. I think it looks better but it will be many months before I think I’ll truly know. I’ll be back to update at that time.
For now, I think it does seem to help and really doesn’t hurt new scar formation. I definitely recommend the Dr Max Powers Scar Serum if you have a scar on your face and are looking to fade it.
Black marks or spots on face are best treated when you see them start. The treatment is much more effective just when hey start. I have read vitamin E helps reduce and fade the dark spotting on skin. You may want to just take some vitamin E capsules and puncture them and use the liquid and apply on the area. Applying lemon juice may also help. These are some external home remedies for reducing the dark spots on your facial skin.
