Natural Treatment for Chicken Pox | Diet for Treating Chicken Pox

Chicken Pox Diet:

Chicken pox is one of the highly contagious diseases usually occurs in children. Kids with 2-8yrs of age are usually affected. More the age more serious can be the attack.
A virus named (varicella zoster) is the causative organism of chicken pox. Period of manifestation is 7-21days.
Most common factor for occurrence of this disease usually in most of the cases in children is repeatedly improper feeding. This ultimately leads to decreased defense mechanism of the child thus inviting viral infections.

Diet for Chicken Pox:

Person is shifted to liquid diet only for some days.

Diet for those suffering from chicken pox should specially contain raw fruits and juices (vegetable).
In this condition juice of lime is very beneficial.
Slowly as the symptomatic improvement begins he should be shifted to diet containing fruits for some days. Once this is well accepted he should be shifted to diet which is nutritious and balanced with all vitamins and minerals. This can be easily achieved with taking raw vegetables and fresh fruits.
When fever drops and appetite returns, give mashed bananas and fresh, raw applesauce.

Home Remedies for Chicken Pox Scar:

  • Pea water (green peas) is an excellent for relieving chicken pox itching.
    Pea water helps relieve irritation and should be taken every day in your diet. Same water can be taken in which fresh peas have been cooked.
  • A paste can be prepared by crushing freshly taken margosa leaves and adding little turmeric powder to it. This should be used as external application over the lesion. In olden days they used to add Margosa leaves into the bathing water for relieving from chicken pox.
  • Paste made out of holy basil leaves can be applied where the lesions are itching and oozing. Sometimes respiratory illness can be associated with chicken pox. (Nasal catarrh or wet cough is the usual symptom). One can take mixture of one teaspoon basil leaves and honey for a week.
  • Honey should be added in your food as well as used for external application. Honey should be smeared all over the body. It helps relieving from the disease around 3-4 days.
  • Coriander and carrots has been found helpful in treatment of chicken pox. Take one part carrots and half part of coriander leaves. This should be finely cut and pieces are boiled in water. Liquid is strained and the extract is taken as soup any one time in a day till symptoms persist.
