Sinus Infection Causes, Treatments
Bacteria and viruses cause infections of the sinuses (hollow spaces in the bones of the head, behind the nose). This can affect both the sides of the nose and the upper jaw bone (where there is a sinus cavity) as well as above the base of the nose at the forehead and at the temples. A sinus infection is often the result of a cold and this condition can last for a long time. In case of serious situation accompanied by high fever, dizziness and severe pain, consult a physician immediately.
Symptoms, Remedies of Sinus Infection
- Infection starts quickly, there is pounding pain in sinus cavities or forehead; extremely sensitive to vibrations; even talking can increase the degree of suffering; face is bright to dark red and feverishly hot; tendency to perspire.

Remedy – Belladonna 30
- Sinus infection with severe headaches in the forehead; mounting pressure around the base of the nose; mouth and throat dry; foul smelling, thick mucus drips into the throat; bad taste in the mouth and throat; would like to rinse the mouth constantly.

- Pin point headache radiates into the forehead; initially liquidly discharge with a feeling of dryness and pressure at the base of the nose; later thick, slippery, stringy discharge, develops crusts that are difficult to remove.
Worse – Cold, pressure
Better – Warm weather, warm steam
Remedy – Kali bichromicum 200
- Painful, one or two sided sinus infection; severe pain over one or both the eyes and at the base of the nose; initially, severe, burning, acid like discharge from the nose; later nose is stuffed; eyelids are swollen; heavy sneezing bouts with tears.
Remedy – Kali jodatum 30
- Sinus infection, during the day with migraine headaches; extremely thirsty; watery discharge or blocked nasal passages.
Remedy – Natrum chloratum 30
