Bronchial Asthma Symptoms, Treatments | Natural Remedy to Cure Bronchial Asthma
Question: This summer I have had difficulty breathing. It seems my nose is much more dry than normal and breathing is more labored or noticeable than usual. Does this seem reasonable?
Answer:
Labored or difficult breathing and nasal irritation point towards bronchial asthma. Asthma is an inflammatory condition of the lung airways, and is characterized by wheezing, breathing difficulty, shortness of breath, aggravated in the night, cough, and an occasional tightness in the chest.
Causes of Bronchial Asthma:
- An allergen – pollen, animal dander, fur.
- Environmental factors – weather changes, cold air.
- Certain drugs to which the system is allergic.
- Emotional disturbances and distress.
- Or simply the body’s response to no known cause.
Remedies for Labored Breathing or Bronchial Asthma:
- The chief mode of management of asthma is through the identification of the allergen/offending factor and warding it off.
- Bronchodilators come handy in a state of emergency, but it would be wise, not to depend too heavily on them.
- Honey is an excellent remedy in the treatment of bronchial asthma. It tones up the entire respiratory system. In case of an acute episode, with extreme breathlessness and suffocation, honey can be life-saving. The vapors from honey dilate the constricted bronchial tubes instantaneously.
- 1 tablespoon every morning on waking will go a long, long way in keeping an attack away.
- Supplementing the diet with vitamin C is important. Vitamin C is packed with anti-oxidants which fight asthma and prevents recurrences. It also prevents the occurrence of a super added infection.
- Remember to include loads of fresh fruits and vegetables, and plenty of green leafy vegetables in your meal.
- Stress has become a part of our very existence. Emotional turmoil and stress are major influencing factors, which prompt an attack, hence, the application of appropriate stress management techniques is the need of the hour.
- Anuloma-viloma, a pranayama technique, works towards the purification of the respiratory tract. Through the daily practice of this technique, breathing becomes regulated and controlled. More over, the lung capacity greatly improves and the resistance to a host of respiratory diseases is developed.
