Inflammation Of Bronchial Passages: Its Causes And Home Remedies

Inflammation of bronchial passages leads to several untoward and distressing upper respiratory symptoms, such as breathlessness and cough. The bronchial passage is made up of soft bronchial tubes. It is through this bronchial passage the air ventilates in and out of the lungs.

Most of the time inflammation of bronchial passage is caused due to bacteria and virus. Sometimes environmental factor such as air pollution is also responsible for inflammation. There is considerable congestion of mucus in the bronchial tree as a result of inflammation. Minor congestion in lungs is resolved with the help of home remedies.

If there is persistent difficulty in breathing, a person should always consult his physician.

Bronchial tubes are part of respiratory system. The air that we inhale through the nose and mouth travels down the trachea which is also called wind pipe. From the trachea, air enters into the large bronchial tubes. It then gets distributed in smaller airways called bronchioles. From the bronchioles, the air is distributed into smaller lung air sacs where exchange of gas takes place.

Inflammation of bronchial passage is a type of defense mechanism adopted by the body to protect the lungs.

The condition is also called bronchitis. These inflammation leads to production and accumulation of too much mucus in the air passage. It gives rise to cough and difficulty in breathing.

Bronchitis can either be acute in onset or it can be chronic lasting since several months. Mostly bacteria and virus are responsible for bronchitis. Environmental factors such as air pollution, cigarette smoking, can also irritate the bronchial tube leading to its inflammation. Congestion, irritation and exhausting cough are result of such inflammation.
