Cystic Fibrosis Diet
There is impairment of digestion and mal-absorption of fat due to defective pancreatic enzymes. As a result of which there is poor nourishment. For this reason low fat diet is advisable.
A normal diet is modified to reduce the fat content to approximately 30gms per day. This is usually used in treating the diseases with intolerance of fat such as gall-bladder, liver and pancreatic diseases, cystic fibrosis or in condition of steatorrhoea.

Proteins 75 gms
Fats 30 gms
Carbohydrates 385 gms
Following food items should be avoided in the diet
- High fat foods like nuts, cheese etc.
- Fried foods.
- Free fat and cream etc.
