Pregnancy Month 4 or Week 16-20 – Parental Responsibilities in Child Care
Fourth Pregnancy Month – Fatherhood Tips:
Every couple argues over small things once in a while. But the friction increases during pregnancy due to stress and hormonal changes. Always be sensitive to your partner’s physical and mental changes.
Understanding Her Emotions:
You can never feel her aches and pains. But you can feel the brunt of her fluctuating emotions. You are aware of her moody behavior and will be tempted to maintain a low profile.
At the same time you will start thinking about yourself. Your partner and unborn child are drawing all the attention presently, so you tend to feel a little neglected at times. Even your partner seems to be more involved in the pregnancy and baby.
Arrange some special time for you and your partner and try to express your feelings. Pamper yourselves with a long drive, night out at a special restaurant, a double massage or a weekend at a nice hotel. Remember that you also have an important role to play. Both the mother and baby are looking out for love, patience, coaching and support.
What You Can Do To Help:
Build your patience level.
If things have started becoming physically difficult for her pregnant body then volunteer for her chores and errands. Mowing the lawn and weekly trips to the launder mat are a few examples. Let her sleep in on the weekends. If some repair work is pending get it done before she reminds you.
As other parental responsibilities come to the forefront your partners rest and mental health needs to take a backseat. To keep things manageable get some extra help around the house from some relatives, friends or even cleaning services.
