Question: My wife is 6 month pregnant and is suffering from piles. She is losing about a table spoon blood daily. Her HB is 11.4. How can she get relief from this problem?

Haemmorrhoids or piles during pregnancy, is quite a common occurrence.

• Engorgement of the rectal veins during pregnancy.
• Excessive straining at stool
• Habitual constipation
• Use of artificial laxatives

  In addition it increases the intra-abdominal pressure, which is not a safe thing during pregnancy.
