Month 1 of Pregnancy – Tips for Father | Pregnancy Week 1-4 Dad’s Role

First Pregnancy Month Fatherhood Tips:

Though fathers are not physically carrying the child, they have a unique role to play. Accompany your wife when she has an appointment with the doctor. That will provide her moral support. Besides you may remember things that the doctor has advised and which she may have forgotten.

You will be sharing the same anxiety, joys, fears, astonishment and emotional weight with your wife. You are her main source of support in many cases.

This Wild Ride called Pregnancy:

Your partner may not appear pregnant physically. But she acts like one. Mood swings maybe one of the first things you notice as a result of one of the many hormonal changes during pregnancy.

She may be laughing together with you one minute, appear very quiet the next and maybe yelling at you or picking up a fight at the next. These are side effects of pregnancy, so do not take it personally. Please maintain your calm because she needs your co-operation during this phase.

Morning sickness especially when it is severe can be disturbing for men. Support your partner. Take care of household duties, attend to her food requests and make sure she gets adequate rest. In this manner you can help both the child and the mother.

Fear of Future:

Fathers are bound to feel nervous by the very idea about providing the child, of being totally responsible for the child. Matters like supporting a bigger family may involve your thoughts now. Talk over your thoughts with your partner she may also be having the same concerns. Working together as a family helps reduce stress and burden.
