Angular cheilitis is an inflammatory lesion in the mouth that is usually bilateral. Some of the causes of angular cheilitis include the following:

- Red rash or swelling spreading around the mouth will also be noticed.
- Painful bleeding will be experienced whenever an infected person opens his mouth.
- Unsightly discomfort in the mouth will most likely be experienced.
Treatment for Angular Cheilitis

- Minor cases of angular cheilitis due to bacterial infection can be treated with application of topical antiseptic cream for one to two weeks to relieve the infection and treat lesions.
- Cases caused by fungal infection can be taken cared of using over-the-counter antifungal creams.
- If angular cheilitis is caused by malabsorption syndrome, this can be treated with vitamin B12 shots. The amount of B12 intake will depend on the severity of the condition.
