[Q] I cannot sleep well at night. It’s been very disturbing and I wake up a
number of times each night
[Q] Can you help me with this sleeping disorder problem?
[Health Adviser] What is your age and profession? How do you spend your day
and what time do you go to bed?
[Q] I am a 42 year old software engineer; Work about 10 hours a day – a desk
job; nothing physically demanding but very stressful
[Q] I go to bed at about 11 pm each night and get up by 630am – if at all i
get some sleep
[Health Adviser] There could be multiple reasons for your sleeping problem:
1.
[Health Adviser] I would suggest you add about 30 minutes of physical
exercise to your daily routine- best is some brisk walking provided you are
otherwise healthy. I would ask you to consult your doctor if you are fit for
brisk walking.
[Q] I can try that – but how will that help me sleep better?
[Health Adviser] Your body will get a bit tired and hence would want to rest
and that may induce sleep.
[Health Adviser] Also try some simple yoga exercises.
[Health Adviser] Drink a glass on warm milk before you go to bed
[Health Adviser] Stress reduction through yoga and meditation will also help
you get rid of your sleeping diorder.
[Health Adviser] Try these few things and you should see some improvement in
your sleeping patterns.
[Q] Ok I will try this and come back to you in a few days. Thank you
[Health Adviser] Thanks for contacting us. Please do not hesitate to contact
us again if we can be of further assistance.
