Neck sprain and shoulder pain cannot turn my neck

I was about to wake up today after a really good night sleep. I get up to see what time it is, I heard cracking sound from my neck, it is now hurting so much, my left shoulder and ear are hurting as well. It this normal and should I go see a doctor?
Four weeks ago i jerked my neck forward which I think has caused a headache and dizziness some times. I took CT-scan but its showed everything was normal. Doctor advised me to take Tylenol 3 and still I have a pain.
I had neck sprain almost 2 months ago and it still bothers me. Everyday in the morning, I have pain on my left side of the neck. I can’t tilt my neck to extreme position on the left side, but by afternoon it slightly gets better but next day the situation is same again. I tried using different types of pillows/ no pillows but it isn’t working, I am 40yrs old, active, sometimes do trekking also, just to explain you my health condition.
I had a habit of jerking my neck to right for quite a no. of years (like asking someone to go: jerking motion). Can you please tell me what could be muscle situation for this pain, and remedies for the same.
Looks like you have muscle strain. You can try massaging you neck with some pain ointments like Ben Gay. You can also massage your neck with comfrey oil. Comfrey is a natural herb that has power to heal muscle sprain, reduces swelling and heals inflamed tissues. Do not stress your neck too much. You must always keep it in a position that does not hurt or stretch the muscle. Rest should also help. Good Luck.
Management of a sprained ankle
1. Give the neck adequate rest. Do not move it excessively.
2. Alternate hot and cold water fomentations are recommended to ease pain and swelling.
3. Avoid popping analgesics or pain killers. Light and gentle oil massage is soothing and is greatly advocated. Use sesame oil or coconut oil. Adding a few drops of clove essential oil will hasten cure. Clove is a brilliant muscle relaxant, and alleviates pains instantaneously.
