Some women experience what is called vaginal itching, and depending on the cause, there are a few things a woman can do to help ease the discomfort of such a problem.
Not only is vaginal itching uncomfortable, it can be pretty embarrassing and annoying as well. It can suddenly act up while a woman is in public, is out with friends, and even when she is being intimate with someone. Some of the remedies you can use from home are natural remedies that can restore the pH balance of a woman’s private parts and can be easily done any time.
Natural Treatment and Home Remedies for Vaginal Itching
One of the causes of feminine itching or vaginal itching is the problem called yeast infections, and this is most often the primary cause of such discomfort. The causes of yeast infections often include tight underwear or clothing, wrong feminine hygiene practices, and even hormonal changes. Also called candidiasis, this ailment and the itch that comes with it can be treated a few natural ways:
- Get yourself some apple cider vinegar and dilute this with a little bit of water.Add some crushed garlic to this watered down solution. With the use of a clean piece of cloth or a wad of cotton, dab the itchy area with this. If you feel excessive stinging, wash it down with a bit of cool water and repeat.
- Another way you can ease the itchiness of your private parts is to use a tampon to get some of these remedies onto the parts you can’t reach from the outside. Smear or soak a tampon with natural, unflavored yogurt and insert this into your vagina. Let this sit for an hour before removing.
- You can also use natural tea tree oil that can be easily bought from pharmacies and health food stores. Lubricate a tampon with a water-based vaginal lubricant then add a few drops of the oil to the tip of the tampon and insert into your vaginal canal. This can also help with the itching.
- Drinking certain herbal concoctions can also help with the problem of vaginal itchiness. You can drink a couple of glasses of buttermilk every day to help balance out your system. You can also take herbal extracts and tablets from herbal food stores that can help you with the problem as well. Your choices include grapefruit seed extract, olive leaves extract, and slippery elm extracts.
- For extreme cases, like persistent and severe itchiness, a herbal douche could do the trick. Mix together 1 tablespoon each of these herbs-raspberry leaf, sage, and mullien extracts-with quarter of a tablespoon of goldenseal. Make this into a tea with the use of a quart of warm water. Strain the herbs from the water and cool down, then mix this with a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a quarter cup of yogurt. Use this mixture as a douche.
