Tuberculosis is an infectious disease. The germ enters the body through the nose, mouth and windpipe and settles down in the lungs. Patient ejects living germs while coughing or spitting and thus spread the disease.

Symptoms of Tuberculosis
- Tuberculosis is of 4 types. But tuberculosis of the lungs is the most common one.
- Persistent cough and hoarseness, patient loses weight, strength and color; chest pain, blood in sputum, difficulty in breathing, pain in shoulders, rise in temperature in the evenings and indigestion are other symptoms.
Causes of Tuberculosis
- De-vitalization of the system and lowered resistance is the main cause.
- Diet deficient in calcium is a major factor.
- Use of stale food, suppressive drugs, living in poorly ventilated houses, sedentary life, contaminated food, overwork, impure air, loss of sleep, exposure to cold, intake of alcohol and tobacco are other factors that promote the disease.
Home cure for Tuberculosis
- Tuberculosis is curable in its early stages. The patients should adopt an all-fruit diet for 7 days.
- Avoid bananas, tinned and dry fruits.
- Later follow fruit and milk diet for 4-6 weeks. Begin with a liter of milk on the first day, and increase it by a liter everyday till you have reached 2 ½ liters. Then the below mentioned diet should be followed.
- Breakfast – Milk, fruits, prunes or dried fruits.
- Lunch – whole wheat bread, steamed vegetables and buttermilk.
- Dinner – Whole-wheat bread and butter, raw salad and cooked apple.
- Bed Time – Glass of milk.
- Custard apple is an excellent food remedy with rejuvenating power for Tuberculosis. Boil custard apple pulp and seedless raisins in water. Filter it when 1/3rd of water is left. Add sugar candy, cardamom and cinnamon before consuming.
- Indian gooseberry is beneficial and promotes vigor and vitality. A tablespoon each of fresh Indian gooseberry and honey every morning is extremely beneficial.
- Regular use of radish is an excellent home remedy.
- The patient should get plenty of fresh air, sunshine and sleep.
- Water Treatment – A neutral immersion bath for an hour everyday is very healing.
- Yoga, slow massage and deep breathing are also effective.
