Larynx is the apparatus which produces voice; it is also called the voice box. Hoarseness or altered sound is produced when there is some inflammation or irritation to the voice box.
• The most common cause is a viral infection, or a cold.
• Dust allergy, perfume allergy, or chemical fume allergy.
• Excessive talking, yelling, singing.
• Cigarette smoking
• Reflux of acid in the throat from stomach.
To prevent hoarseness, stop speaking loudly, do not yell, and do not shout.
Hone remedies for hoarseness of voice
• Juice of basil leaves and honey.
• If hoarseness is caused by cold, treat the cold.
• Give rest to your voice, do not shout.
• Avoid all irritants like pickle, cold water, alcohol, and smoking.
• Homeopathic medicine Argentum Nitricum, Causticum. Is useful.
• Gargle with warm water and salt, it will help in soothing the throat.
Hoarseness will get cured within few days if all the above precaution is judiciously followed.
