Ringworm Natural Home Remedies
Ringworm is a skin disease where the skin breaks up due to scratching and this leads to secondary infection.
Symptoms of Ringworm
The infection occurs in the scalp, the body, feet and nails. The disease spreads on the skin and extends deeper into the hair roots. The affected hair breaks off near the roots, bald spots appear on the scalp and gray scales protrude from infected areas.
The patches of ringworm that affects the face and neck are usually round or oval. They are pink and scaly rings with a clean space in the center.
Causes of Ringworm
It is passed from infected person to a healthy one by contact or from infected domestic animals. Use of articles such as towels, bath mats, bathtub and swimming pools are other factors that can spread the disease.
Treatment of Ringworm
- Cleansing the blood stream and body is very important. The patient should adopt all-fruit diet for 3 days. Administer warm water enema. Gradually take on a balanced diet.
- Paste made from mustard seeds is found very effective in treatment of ringworm. The skin should be washed thoroughly with hot water and then the paste should be applied externally to affected areas.
- Castor oil is valuable in treating ringworm on the head. The oil should be liberally applied on the scalp.
- Coconut oil can be applied to the portions with ringworm. It will maintain softness of the skin.
- Unripe papaya and its seeds have medicinal values. Slices of the fruits or paste from the seeds should be applied on the patches.
- Combination of carrot and spinach juice has proved effective in the treatment of ringworm. Mix 300 milliliters of carrot juice with 200 milliliters spinach juice before consumption.
- Drink plenty of water, breathe fresh air and bathe twice daily.
- Light mud packs should be applied for half an hour, daily for beneficial results.
