Natural Remedies for Anemia:
Anemia is of several types. Most common type of it is simple anemia. In simple anemia the red blood cells present in the blood are reduced than the normal amount required. Red blood cells are important as a vehicle for transporting oxygen to all the cells and tissues of our body.
Most common cause of anemia is iron deficiency. Other causes are blood loss, heavy menstrual bleeding, pregnancy and multiple pregnancies, damaged liver, nutritional deficit and repeated infection.
Symptoms of anemia are easy fatigue, dull headache, dizziness, increased heart rate, breathlessness and exertion. Skin and nails are pale. Person is usually sensitive to cold. Appetite is lost. Tongue is usually coated white and one will notice inside of lower eyelid pale.
Home Remedies for Anemia:
- Blackstrap molasses is a rich source of iron. For adults take one tablespoon of it and for children take one teaspoon every day. It is safe for consumption and easy to digest.Iron supplement usually taken is not safe. It should be taken in natural form as far as possible.
- Beet is useful home remedy in increasing blood red blood cells level. For many years this has been used for treating anemia. Extract roughly 50ml of beet juice and have it once a day. Beneficial if taken empty stomach in morning. One can add carrot juice to it for enhancing the effect. Both carrot and beet are rich source of iron and natural supplement for increasing the iron levels.
- Consuming certain food articles daily can increase the red blood cells level. These items are celery, cherries, broccoli, lettuce, parsley, pears, whole grains, peas, barley, seeds, beets, carrots, tomatoes, figs, dates and nuts. They all should be taken in your diet for increasing the hemoglobin levels in blood.
- Fenugreek in also efficient in treating anemia. Leaves of fenugreek are cooked and taken two times a day for those who have very low levels of hemoglobin. Those with moderate form can take fenugreek seeds. They too are rich source of iron. Take one teaspoon of it daily till red blood cell level is normal and continue thereafter also for few months for better results.
