My daughter has pleurisy and I want to know if its a long term and ongoing illness or if recovered once it is over. Please give some suggestions for speedy recovery as she is taking pleurisy treatment for last three weeks now. No advice or info is given by the doctor or hospital on this.

I’ve had random pleurisy since I hit puberty. But it’s more annoying than anything. I feel the pressure on my lungs but it more or less hurts in my back and it drives me nuts. It kept me up for over 24 hours now. I’m hoping it subsides today. My cases only last for a few hours.

There are many causes for back pain, to rule out each cause is very important and it can only be done on physical examination by your doctor.
Back pain in the renal angle is usually due to some renal pathology, like renal stone. It can be due to lumbar spondylosis, or gall stone colic, but it radiates in the front. The other cause of pain in between the scapula is pancreatitis, the physician’s personal examination will be a better option, and be a concluding factor for the diagnosis and treatment.

My husband complained of Kidney pain yesterday so I gave him cranberry pills. This morning the pain was in both kidneys, but later on it has shifted to his back and between his shoulder blades and he suspects it to be pleurisy. I am not so sure. Any suggestions?

thank you very much, I’ve got pleurisy since last sunday the 25th of january 2009, it is now the 30th. What also helps me at the moment (since this night I was completely congested and almost panicked) is ‘burning’ menthol crystals on a charcoal disk. I managed to get the crystals from Tree-Harvest in Herefordshire.
The beginning of the week there was no cattarh, now there is and starts to be yellow, so am rather praying and working on getting every cell better in my body. A dry hot sauna is helping as well, even though I’ve got to get myself there.
