Home cures for Neuritis
Neuritis or Nervous Disorder is inflammation of a single nerve or a series of nerves causing changes in sensation, weakness and loss of reflexes.
Symptoms of Neuritis or Nervous Disorder
- Burning, tingling and stabbing pain in the affected nerves are the main symptoms.
- Severe cases may show loss of sensation, numbness and paralysis of the nearby muscles.
- Pernicious anemia, involving the nerves of the spine may also cause neuritis.
- The patient suffering from this finds it difficult to walk in the dark.
Causes of Neuritis or Nervous Disorder
- Excessive acidic condition of the blood and other body fluids is the main cause.
- Faulty diet, overwork and wrong habits of living and nutritional deficiencies lower the tone of Nervous system and contribute towards neuritis.
- Dislocation and fractures of the bone, a bad bruise, a penetrating injury, a blow, heavy pressure over the nerve trunk.
- Infections such as diabetes, leprosy, tuberculosis, tetanus and diphtheria, poisoning with insecticides, arsenic, lead, mercury and alcohol are other factors.
Home cures for Neuritis or Nervous Disorder
- Include whole grains particularly whole wheat, brown rice, raw milk, homemade cottage cheese and raw and sprouted seeds in the diet. In severe cases patient should be put on a juice fast for 5 days.
- All vitamins of B group (Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12 and Pantothenic acid) have proved beneficial in the prevention and treatment of Neuritis. They have relieved numbness, extreme pain and weakness.
- Avoid meat, fish, tinned foods, white bread and sugar, condiments and tea and coffee.
- Soybean milk is highly beneficial in treating neuritis. A glass of soybean milk with 1-teaspoon honey should be taken every night.
- Raw carrot and spinach juice are rich in elements have proved valuable in treating neuritis. Drink at-least half liter of the combined juices daily.
- Barley brew is another effective remedy. Boil one fourth cup of natural barley in 2 quarters of water till it has reduced to 1 quarter. Strain it carefully and mix it with lime juice and buttermilk for better results.
- Every week patient should take 2-3 Epsom salt baths. Remain in the bath for 25-30 minutes and bathe the affected parts too. Moderate exercises and walking are also advisable.
