Home Remedies for Stinky Armpits:
However, stinky armpits are just the type of problems that can frequently blindside anyone.
- A stinky armpit is due to the accumulation of waste and bacteria in the armpits. As such, hygiene plays a huge role in eliminating the condition. This is why regular bathing plays a very crucial role. Aside from that, one should also use a bath soap that is effective in neutralizing bacteria and germs in the armpits.
- After bathing, most people apply a deodorant to put some fragrance into their armpits as well as to neutralize germs and bacteria causing the foul smell. However, one should be careful in choosing a deodorant, as there are some that closes skin pores. When this happens, sweat is hampered from being expelled and may instead accumulate in the inner layer of the skin, causing infection and an even fouler smell. What most experts suggest is that one should instead use deodorants that open the pores and thus assist in the release of body sweat. Although this may cause inconvenience at first due to increased sweat production, the process is more beneficial in the long run.
- After bathing, one may also rub a fresh slice of lemon on the armpit. The acid from the fruit is known to kill bacteria that cause stinky armpits. One may also try applying apple cider vinegar on the armpit by using cotton balls. Both the lemon and apple cider vinegar lowers the pH level in the underarms, making it an inhospitable environment for bacteria.
- One may also apply baking soda on the armpit. One may use a soft brush in applying the soda on the armpit and then pat the soda with the fingers to make it stick.
- Perhaps a simpler means to prevent stinky armpits is to shave regularly. Hair in the armpits causes a moist environment that encourages bacterial growth, causing stinky underarms.
