What is mildew or mould inhalation?
Mould can be used interchangeably with mildew, although mildew is broader in the sense that it points to a family of fungus that grows on the leaves of plants. On the other hand, oulds are more easily detected by people as it is characterized by a spongy surface and clings to certain surfaces such as walls. However, they share one similarity – their spores can cause infection and other respiratory problems when inhaled.
Certain types of moulds produce mycotoxins that pose a really serious health issue not just for humans but for animals as well.
There are other ways aside from inhalation that people may develop irritation from mould and mildew. One of these ways is through simple contact with mould and mildew through the skin. However, of most pressing concern is inhalation because it involves possible infections with the internal organs and these may lead to even bigger problems.
