Home Remedies and Natural Treatment for Irregular Bowel Movement
Eating the right kind of food will help you regulate the movement of your bowels.
- Try to get as much fiber from natural sources as possible. Include in your diet the following items: dried apricots, almonds, celery, raisins, coconut, dates, beans, grapes, mangoes, figs, parsley, papayas, pineapples, prunes, soybeans, olives, turnips, and any green vegetables.
- Water is another way to ease constipation and to help you move your bowels easily and regularly. Try to get the normal 8 glasses every day and more if possible.
- Another therapeutic water treatment for constipation and sluggish bowel movement is to do this regimen. When you wake up in the morning, immediately drink a liter of water and go for a short walk. Do this every day to regulate your bowel movement.
- Problems with severe constipation can be treated with a simple mixture of warm milk and a couple of teaspoons of castor oil taken before bedtime.
- Try to avoid diuretics like coffee, even decaffeinated ones. Diuretics often draw liquid away from your body, making it more difficult to remove body waste and promoting constipation.
- Eat a lot of healthy grains like oatmeal and whole wheat products.
- Fiber-rich foods should be part of your daily diet and for therapeutic purposes of regulating your bowel movements and treating constipation. Try to integrate at least five servings of foods like apples, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, and berries into your daily meals.
- Adjust your fluid intake according to the weather. Take more liquids during hotter and more humid days and try to keep to the regular 8 glasses intake of liquids during other days.
