- Drink lots of fluids, preferably fresh fruit juices that are laden with vitamin C and water.
- Warm tea can also help ease the congestion of your chest by loosening up the phlegm that is blocking your air passages. Try drinking peppermint or chamomile tea for this purpose.
- Steam is also a big help when trying to loosen up the congestion in your chest. Try inhaling some steam with eucalyptus oil or peppermint in it to give you some relief.

Take one piece of dried ginger, a few cumin seeds and some pepper. Powder these items (coarse powder) and boil with one or two glasses of drinking water. Put some jaggery in it. Drink it two or three time a day.
