Goitre is the swelling of the thyroid gland in the neck. Goiter may occur even without the swelling. Women are more prone to this disease during puberty, pregnancy and menopause, or when they are overworked and do not get sufficient rest and relaxation.

  • Take adequate rest and relax.
  • Adopt juice fast for 5 days and then all-fruit diet.
  • Bowels should be cleansed daily with lukewarm water.
  • The following diet should be taken:
    • Breakfast – One glass of whole milk, handful of raw nuts and fresh acid fruits.
    • Mid-morning – A glass of vegetable or fruit juice with 1 tablespoon of yeast added.
    • Lunch – Steamed vegetables, whole wheat bread and buttermilk.
    • Mid Afternoon – Fruit juice or milk.
    • Dinner – Vegetable soup, raw vegetable salad, sprouts, nuts and homemade cottage cheese.
    • Bed Time – Fruit juice or milk.
  • Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, drugs, oily foods, fleshy foods, white sugar and white flour products.
  • Whole rice, asparagus, oats, cabbage, carrots, onion, garlic, tomatoes and strawberries contain iodine and should be consumed.
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables should comprise half the daily intake of food.
  • For starch – potatoes should be taken in their jacket and for proteins stick to nuts, cheese, egg, lentils, pear and beans.
  • Never over exert, and avoid emotional upset.
  • Strictly adhere to a suitable diet for a year for complete cure.
  • Sponge the whole body before retiring for the night or on rising.
