What is a Ganglion Cyst
Ganglion cyst is an abnormal sac in the body which contains fluid. A ganglion is a cyst that develops under the skin near a joint. It is filled with a jelly like fluid. The ganglion is usually an outgrowth from the capsule surrounding a joint or from a sheath of a tendon. A hard bump develops on the wrist or back of the hand, but sometimes on the foot. It varies in size from a pea to a plum. Tendons are fibrous cords which attach muscle to bone.
Ganglion cyst Prevention
- A ganglion may disappear spontaneously. It is mostly removed surgically under local anesthesia but recurrence is there in some cases, so one should try to take natural way of treating ganglion.
- A very nutritious diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and nuts, plus a wide-spectrum of vitamin-mineral supplementation, will help reduce its size. Do not overeat, even fruits or vegetables.
- Avoid constipation, as it will make it more difficult to shrink the cysts.
- Maintaining outstanding health, through proper rest, exercise and outdoor walking, strengthens the body and helps it resolve this problem. Do not over-work with your hands while not obtaining enough rest.
Home Remedies for Ganglion Cysts
- The cyst is a fluid enlargement, so astringent herb compresses, saturated with hazel or white oak bark tea, can help shrink them. It is easier to eliminate them while they are small.
- Echinacea contains properdin, which strengthens the immune system and thus helps in spontaneous disappearance of the cyst.
- Licorice has most bactericidal compound and antiviral properties and hence is useful in natural removal of the fluid from the cyst and prevents recurrence.

I have a ganglion cyst on the upper side of the right hand. And also severe pain while I working hardly with same. It is noticed, after using a tablet (do not remember the name exactly) there is no change in the pain. What is the remedy for this ganglion cyst on my hand, without an operation or surgery?
I read your comment about a cyst. I have had a cyst on my right index finger for about 1 1/2 yrs. That really started to bother me. It became a cluster of cysts and I could feel it growing steadily. My nail got a big indent as well. I went to my Doctor about it, and only suggested surgery if it hindered me severely. Said it can also grow back. So I finally tried a very simple, cheap, painless, no side effects remedy. It is a small, about 1/3 in. round little “special” magnet (about $4.00) that I taped to my finger for about 3 months or so, and noticed it gradually shrinking to now almost invisible. I now only wear it for nights to keep it from regrowing. My nail is almost back to normal too. I could hardly believe this.
If you want more info about this magnet, you can contact me.
I have cyst in my right hand wrist on the dorsal side. It’s been there for many years. I don’t like to go for surgical treatment as it may re-appear. What kind of magnet did you use to treat the cyst.
I am trying to find a treatment for my mum who has a painful ganglion cyst on her finger just as you have described. What is the type of magnet you used and where is it available? I would really appreciate it if you could let me know.
