Dermatitis is mechanical or chemical disruption of the outer layer of skin. It can cause internal and external inflammation of the skin. Face, neck, eyelids, forearms and genital areas are more prone to it.

Symptoms of Dermatitis
- Redness is the first symptom, dryness, irritation, fissuring, swelling of the skin, boils are formed that can rupture and dry to form crusts.
- In some cases the disease comes and goes without any great changes in the skin.
Causes of Dermatitis
- Usually chemical substances give rise to dermatitis.
- Some plants can cause dermatitis after an hour or two after contact.
- Certain industrial minerals, drugs, tars, turpentine, wool, silk, nylon, hair dyes, bleaches, perfume, nail polish, various detergents, skin tonics and floor wax.
- Nervous and emotional strain, improper diet and deficiency of Vitamin A and pantothenic acid.
Home remedies for Treatment of Dermatitis
- If its an internal cause, switch to an all fruit diet for at-least a week and then to a well balanced-diet consisting of vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts and seeds and warm water enemas should be used.
- Add 100 grams of Epsom salt to a bowlful of hot water and bathe the affected areas with them twice a day. Olive oil should be applied later.
- Celery, carrot and apple juice mixed together is beneficial. Avoid denatured foods.
- If the cause is external, then apply a mixture of baking soda and olive oil.
- Yoga and exercise prevent toxemia and purify blood.
- Fresh air, sufficient mental and physical rest is essential.
- Adopt regular hours of eating and sleeping and avoid exposure to cold.
