Common Fever Home based cures
Common Fever is a common ailment where the temperature of the body is higher than the normal (98.4 – 99.5 Degree Fahrenheit). Changes in the atmosphere, intake of food and amount of exercise may produce slight variations. A clinical thermometer is used to measure temperature.
Symptoms of Common Fever
- Pain in various parts of the body, shivering, thirst, nausea, vomiting, constipation, scanty urine, speed ed respirations and pulse, finally followed by profuse sweating.
- High temperature beyond 107 degree Fahrenheit can cause mental disturbances and even death.
Causes of Common Fever
- Common Fever represents disordered state of the body and is the symptom of body’s fight against infection. It is the common feature of several diseases.
- The real cause of all fevers is the accumulation of toxic matter due to unhygienic living and wrong feeding habits.
Treatment of Common Fever
- Common fever subsides automatically within 2-3 days.
- Mix the juice of an orange with warm water and take it every 2 hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Warm water enema should be used.
- If the temperature rises beyond 103 degree Fahrenheit, apply cold compresses to the head.
- Wrap a linen cloth wrung in cold water around the body and legs and then cover with warm material. Repeat every 3 hours.
- Hot water bottles may be applied to sides of the body and feet.
- After the temperature returns to normal an all fruit 3 meal diet should be adopted for 2 days, later followed by a well balanced diet.
- Tea made from fenugreek seed serves as a soothing and cleansing drink.
- Prepare a decoction by boiling basil leaves in water.Give it along with milk, sugar and powdered cardamom.
