Boils in Children: Treatment and Home Remedies for Lesions in Infants
Boils In Children Causes and Treatment
The eruption of boils is a manifestation of the body’s natural attempts to eliminate body wastes. As such, one should not try to intervene in the process because it comes naturally. However, the matter becomes a cause for concern when there is the potential for infection that treating boils should become a main concern.
Boils are characterized by bumps on the skin. These bumps are filled with pus. The pus is a cause for concern because it usually signals the onset of infection. The infection begins at the base of the hair follicle and works its way up to the surface of the skin. Boils are very common in children.
When treating boils, one should bear in mind that they are contagious. Whenever the pus comes in contact with the skin in other parts of the body, it is possible that the infection will spread. As such, one has to make sure that a sufficient supply of cotton or tissue is on hand when eliminating pus and discards them properly after use.
Home Remedies and Cures for Boils in Children and Infants
Boils have a great potential for spreading infection throughout the body due to the pus. Because of this, proper treatment for boils should also be geared toward eliminating any possibility of the disease spreading. Here are some of the most preferred treatments for boils:
- Because boils are symptoms of the body’s natural effort to get rid of waste, the most common method should be in assisting the elimination of these wastes. In this case, one way to do this is through a process known as hydrotherapy. This process involves alternating hot and cold compress. The hot compress should last for about three minutes and about thirty seconds of cold compress. The process should be repeated several times until the boil expels its pus.
- Apply tea tree oil directly on the area where the boils is located. Tea tree oil is known for its antibacterial and germicidal agents that are very effective in treating boils. If tea tree oil is not immediately available, one may also use other products that are rich in tea tree oil.
- Garlic. Garlic is a known antiseptic, so taking as many as you can of this food will do wonders in the treatment of boils.
- When boils appear frequently, it is a sign of a weak immune system. As such, one should try to strengthen the immune system by getting rid of body wastes regularly. Also, detoxifying the body by consuming an all-natural diet will help in enhancing the immune system.

A boil is a collection of fluid. The fluid becomes pus-like if it gets infected.
How big is the boil?
Since when has it been there?
Is there any discharge or bleeding?
Homoeopathic prescription:
Silicea 30 is a wonderful homoeopathic remedy for boils, pimples, and pustules.
Give your baby 5 pills every hour.
Silicea brings about quick suppuration and discharge of the pus. It checks infection, prevents further boils from coming up, and ameliorates the pain.
Along with the medicine, follow a few dietary guidelines:
o Give the baby plenty of water and fluids (milk, buttermilk, juices, and soups) to flush the entire system.
o Grate 1 clove of garlic, mix it with honey, to make it palatable and give him once a day.
Other recommendation:
Hot water fomentation should be resorted to several times a day. It hastens suppuration and eases pain.
Also, maintain good hygiene and wash the area well with an anti-septic.
