Asthma Home based cures and remedies
Asthma is a troublesome respiratory disease where the patient pants or short-draws breathe.
Symptoms of Asthma
- Difficulty in exhaling, gasping, severe at night.
- Coughing associated with itching of the chin, back or neck is responsible for sudden onsets.
- For gradual onset respiratory infection is responsible.
- In severe attacks the patient becomes restless and fatigued, respiratory and heartbeat rates increases accompanied by coughing, wheezing, vomiting, profuse sweating and tightness in the chest.
- Reaction of the system to food, perfumes, weather, drugs and other irritants are the factors.
- Dust, pollen, fungi, insects, animal hair.
- Foods like pork, beef, eggs, chocolates, milk, potato, beans and wheat.
- Quite often heredity.
- Air pollution, infection and emotional tension is also responsible.
Asthma Treatment
- Apply wet packs to the chest to relieve congestion of the lungs.
- Practice yoga to strengthen lungs, and give enemas to clean the colon.
- Fast for a few days on lemon juice with honey and then resort to a fruit diet and gradually solid foods can be included that consists plenty of alkaline foods fresh fruits, vegetables and germinated grains.
- Foods that produce phlegm like curds, lentils, rice, sugar and fried foods should be avoided.
- In case of severe attack a cup of warm water should be taken after every 2 hours.
- The patient should eat less than their capacity, chewing food properly and eating slowly.
- Honey brings relief when air flowing over it is inhaled; when it is eaten or taken with either milk or water it prevents production of mucous.
- For early stages of asthma garlic cloves boiled in 30 grams of milk should be given; steaming ginger tea with minced garlic cloves should be taken in morning and evening.
- A tsp of turmeric powder in a glass of milk 2-3 times daily is good for bronchial asthma.
- During the attack mustard oil mixed with little camphor should be massaged over the back of the chest to loosen phlegm and ease breathing.
- Steam from boiling water mixed with caraway seeds dilates bronchial passage.
- Performing yoga is highly beneficial.
- Asthmatics should be freed from their feelings of being sick, tensions and mental worries.
