Anemia is basically lack of blood. It signifies shortage of rich Red Blood Cells (which carry oxygen to tissues) and coloring matter hemoglobin. It crops up due to the consumption of refined foods.
Symptoms of Anemia
- Premature wrinkles, tired and dull looking eyes, grayish skin, lines of strain and haggard look.
- Lack of energy, dizziness, weakness, easy fatigue, pale fingernails and lips, poor memory and headaches.
Causes of Anemia
- Inadequate intake of iron or defects in the bone marrow.
- Heavy menstruation, bleeding piles and injuries.
- Lack of hydrochloric acid in the digestive system due to anxiety, worry, emotional strain.
- Destruction of Vitamin E due to certain drugs.
- Chronic diseases like T.B. accompanied with hemorrhage and intestinal parasites.
Cure of Anemia
- It is best prevented than cured.
- Iron should always be taken in organic forms. Inorganic forms are hazardous.
- Natural organic iron are found in brown rice, wheat and wheat cereals, fruits like apples, raisins, dates, figs, berries, cherries, peaches, grapes, green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, carrots, beet and eggs.
- The proteins found in egg, cheese and milk; copper found in watermelon; Vitamin B12 found in wheat germ, soybean, peanuts and milk products; and Ascorbic acid found in citrus fruits (necessary for the absorption of iron) are essential.
- Cold water bath twice a day, steam bath, cold friction, hot Epsom salt bath for 5-10 minutes once a week is beneficial.
- Walking, massage, deep breathing and simple yoga are also good for anemia.
